HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 10/13/1964 - Village Meeting October 13, 1964 The Council met in the library of the Eden Prairie High School on October 13, 1964 at 8 o'clock p. m. Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor James C. Brown, Clerk Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Edna M. Hn mgren, Bookkeeper Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Alvin J. Bren, Trustee ORDER OF BUSINESS : MINUTES A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve the minutes of September 30th as written. Motion carried. VOUCHERS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve vouchers #1808 through #1886 for payment. Motion carried. BIDS - LANDSCAPING Bids for landscaping the Village Hall site were opened and turned over to Mr. Miller and Mr. Mueller of Rieke-Carroll for evaluation. i A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to table the bids until the October 28th meeting. Motion carried. BIDS - SITEWORK A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to advertise for bids on Plan I deleting bituminus surfacing, base inpl. and prime leaving a balance of $3.060.00. Motion carried. BIDS - TRUCK. DUMP BODY, HOIST A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to adver- tise for bids on a truck, dump body and hoist. Motion carried. BIDS TRACTOR, SWEEPER, HYDRAULIC MOWER A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to advertise for bids on a tractor. Motion carried. A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to amend the above motion to include a sweeper and hydraulic mower. Motion carried. VICTOR CARLSON - EDENVIEW I A motion was made by Silbert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to refer the drainage problem in Edenview I to Commissioner Stodola. Motion carried. GUNNARD CARLSON - LOT VARIANCE A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to grant a 15 foot variance on Lot #B, RLS #547, Riverview Road. Motion carried. CITY OF BLOOMINGTON A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to deny approval of a truck stop type service station on the northwest corner of Inter- state 494 and County Road 18 and recommend that the City of Bloomington do the same. Motion carried. SPECIAL FETING - OCTOBER 22ND The Council will hold a special meeting on October 22nd for interviewing Village personnel. JANKEā€¢S FIRST ADDITION A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve plat of Janke's First Addition and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign. Motion carried. October 13, 1964 (Page 3) CENSUS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to approve a census in 1965 and authorize the Clerk to act as liaison with the Census Bureau, Washington, D. C. and authorize the first payment of $107.00. Motion carried. GRAVEL PITS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to ask Attorney Perbix to advise the Council in regard to renewal of gravel pit licenses for the Sewall and Woodrich pits. Motion carried. MR. FUNKHAUSER - BIG D DISCOUNT STATION A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to extend the time on his trailer at the Big D Discount Station until November 1, 1964 at which time he must remove it from the Village. Motion carried. ATRIAL CONTOUR MAP A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve Item #2, Ground Control at a cost of $3,300. j Motion carried. FERTILIZER - BALL FIMD A motion was made by James Brown and seconded by Albert Bruce to authorize Ray Stodola to purchase fertilizer for the ball field at Flying Cloud Airport out of Park & Recreation funds.
