HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 04/14/1964 - Village Meeting April 14, 1964 The Village Council met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie High School on April 14, 1964 at 8 o'clock p. m. Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor James C. Brown, Clerk Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Rolf E. Haugen, Treasurer Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper Alvin Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Archie Carter, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the minutes of the March 25th, 28th and April 4th meetings as written with the following addition in the April 4th minutes: Northern States Power The Village Attorney is instructed to write to Northern States Power Co. asking them to submit application for a transmission line under Ordinance #35. l Motion carried. VOUCHERS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve payment of vouchers #1527 through 1566. Motion carried. EICKHOLT ADDZ_TIQN k A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve the final plat for Eickholt Addition and instruct the Mayor and Clerk to sign. There was no filing fee because the plat fronts on an existing road. Motion carried. i GRAVEL PITS Mr. Carter reported on all gravel pits, no action was taken at this time. i PEARSON - RE-ZONING ti A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to get 1 May 12, 1964 as a hearing date to re-zone the Pearson property from RA to R1. // Motion carried. 1, s i, April 14 1964 (Page 2) SCHOONER DAY June 6. 1964 was officially proclaimed "Schooner Day" for the Village of Eden Prairie by Mayor Rogers. VILLAGE HALL BONDS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to adopt the Resolution authorizing the sale of $54.000 of municipal bonds for a 10 year period. Motion carried. DOG LEASHING A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to set a hearing on the May 27th meeting in regards to a Dog Leashing Ordinance. Motion carried. BRACBS BIT A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the final plat for Braces Bit and instruct the Mayor and Clerk ;.o sign. There was no filing fee because the plat fronts on an existing road. Motion carried. ALPINE ESTATES A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve the final plat for Alpine Estates and instruct the Mayor and Clerk to sign. A filing fee of $220.50 was received. The deed for extra width of the street for a turnaround at the south end of Alpine Way is to be filed at the Courthouse with the understanding that land bo deeded back to adjacent lots when street is ex- tended southward on Alpine Estates. Motion carried. A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to sign escrow agreement between developers. Hendrickson Bros. and the Village for the subdivision of Alpine Estates with $1,151.00 per lot going into escrow. Motion carried. VOTER RREGISTRATION -.. A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to instruct the Village Attorney to prepare an ordinance for voter registration to be pre- sented at the April 29th meeting. + Motion carried. i April 14, 1964 (Page 3) MERLAND BELDEN - HOLASEK PROPERTIES A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to set a hearing on the Belden property for May 12th. Motion carried. A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson that the hearing on the Bein-Holasek land be continued to May 12th. Motion carried. LESLIE KOPESKY PROPERTY Mr. Leslie Kopesky and Mr. Ingram appeared with plans for a storage garage on property Mr. Ingram wishes to purchase from Mr. Kopesky. A special use permit was denied and was advised to apply for re-zoning the property. BIG DISCOUNT STATION SIGN A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce to abide by the ruling of the Zoning & Planning Commission of "No Sign" for the Big Discount Station. Motion carried. SUNSET RIDGE - DRAINAGE A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct the Building Inspector not to issue any more permits until the drainage problem is corrected in Sunset Ridge subject to the approval of the Village Council. Motion carried. Copies of these minutes are to be sent to Olson & Anderson, Inc., 4824 Rutledge Ave., Minneapolis, Geo. H. Hussman, County Road #1, Hopkins, Edward Jerabec, County Road 66, Excelsior and Gebco, Inc., 4020 Minnetonka Blvd., Minneapolis. PUBLIC PARKS& RECREATION ORDINANCE A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to adopt Ordinance No.,_,,,., relating to Public Parks & Recreation. Notion carried. NORTHERN STATES POWER NCO. A aopy of the letter by Attorney Perbix to Northern States Power in regard to application for permit for transmission line was placed on file in the Clerk's minutes. ROGER DAHLIN -JAMES 0,_„NE=1 BUILDING PERMITS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to refer the request for puilding permits for Roger Dahlin and James O"Neill to the Zoning & Planning Commission. These requests are for additions that are too close to the neighbors lot line. Notion carried. --------- -- ---- --- ..�__ ---- -- -- April 14, 1964 (Page 4) VILLAGE HALL SPECIFICATIONS A motion was made by James Brown and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to accept the specifications for the Village Hall from Rieke-Carroll & Assoc., Inc. Motion carried, CHAIRS FOR VILLAGE A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to purchase 9 Jasper chairs from P. M. Johnson, ginger naugahyde and green gros point at $107.00 each. Motion carried. USED GOASER A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to authorize Ray Stodola to purchase a used greaser from the W. G. Smith Co. for $107.00. Motion carried, COUNr,n .�KEETING DATE .OAS$ A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to change the next Council meeting date frog Rpyil 22nd to April 2nh, 1964.
