Present were: Alvin J. Bren, Acting Mayor Rolf E. Haugen, Treasurer F, Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer James C. Brown, Clerk ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES w A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to accept the minutes of the March 13th and 16th meetings as written with the following correction: GL dL Kings F_or2 st 3rrd Addition Delet3 item #3 - minimum inspection fee of $99.00 Motion carried. U NORTHERN STATES POWER-HIGH TENSION LINE Messrs Gordon Englund, McKelup, McDaniel, and Rickson appeared for Northern States Power Co. and Donald Bundlie representing property owners effected with this line. Discussion was held on both sides of the issue and the following motion was made: A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by James Brown that Northern States Power Company is hereby officially notified by the Village of Eden Prairie that said company must comply with the provisions of Village Ordinance No. 35 with regard to the location of any electric transmission power line through or across the Village; that specifically the Village has not approved any location of said proposed transmission line as of the date hereof; that the proposed location of said transmission line does not meet with the approval of the Village Council, and it is recommended that Northern States Power Company consider alter- mate routes for the location of said line working in conjunction with the Eden Prairie Zoning and Planning Commission; further, that the location proposed by Northern States Power Company is contrary to the general plan of development and general Welfare of the Village of Eden Prairie; that any right-ofG►way Northern States Power has, or is presently, acquiring for said transmission line, is being { acquired by Northern States Power Company at its own risk, and is not to be used for transmission line purposes without approval from the Village. y, Notion carried. . A copy of Ordinance No. 35 with a copy of these minutes is to be sent to M Northern States Power Co. as well as Gordon Englund, Sales Supervisor. Excelsior. / Minnesota. { r1 March 25. 1964 (Page 2) SWENSEEN GRAVEL PIT A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve application of Anderson Aggregate, Inc.. 100 N. 7th St., Minneapolis to mine gravel in Section 12. Township 116, Range 22 in compliance with Village Ordinance No. 36. Motion carried. GRAVEL PIT PERMITS Alexander Construction Co. Woodrich Construction Co. Pearson Swenseen A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve gravel permits requested by the above four gravel pit owners upon their fulfilling the requirements of Ordinance No. 36 and after an inspection by the Village Engineer at the expense of the owner to assure grading plan is satisfactory. Motion carried. BASEBALL FIELD FLYING CLOUD AI RPORT A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce to request the Council to write to the Metropolitan Airports Commission for permission to lease property on Flying Cloud Airport ground for baseball diamonds. Mr. Lloyd Christianson made the request for the youth in Eden Prairie. Grading and seeding will be done by the Village of Eden Prairie subject :,o approval of Village Attorney, Perbix. Motion carried. BIDS-GRAVEL. HOT MIX_MC_I OIL A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce to advertise for bids for the following items to be delivered to Eden Prairie. Final specifi- cations are to be worked out by the Village Engineer and Attorney. 1. 10,000 Yards Class 5 Gravel 2. 150 Tons Hot Mix 3. 4,000 Gallons Mai Oil Motion carried. ORDINANCE-RECREATION do PARK COMMISSIQN The first reading was made by Al Bruce of ordinance in regard to Recreation and Park Commission. It was tabled for further discussion. NORMRN S=ES POWER- RATES A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce to authorise the secretary to send letters to farm residents as per list submitted. The letter and list will be on file in the Clerk's minutes. Motion carried. March 25, 1964 (Page 3) RESOLUTION #44 - A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to adopt tesolttion #44 regulating manner and use of lake waters. Motion carried.
