HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 11/14/1963 - Village Meeting November 14, 1963 The Village Council of Eden Prairie met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie High School on November 14, 1963 at 8 o'clock p. m. w Present were: 01 Donald A. Rogers, Mayor James C. Brown, Clerk Al Bruce, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Secy. Alvin Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Kenneth Anderson, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer "�•� ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES OF LAST METING 16-- Q A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve L'" the minutes of the November 12th meeting as written. Motion carried. HARVEY HLADKY A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to instruct Attorney, Perbix to write to Harvey Hladky, Duck Lake Road about a sewage disposal problem. Nation carried. ELECTRICITY—TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON 169 & 18 A motion was :wade by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct James Brown, Clerk to write to the W21age of Edina informing them that the Village of Eden Prairie will share the cost od this signal. , i Motion carried. 9 ABATEMENT FORMS i A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve the following abatements and instruct the mayor to sign same: i Pla #5 9500 IXY 56716 425 ILL, 57022 9500 oj 56890 7500 56977 7500 Motion carried. SUNSET RIDGE ADDITION i A motion was made and seconded that Building Inspector, Trutna be instructed E ` not to issue any more permits in Sunset Ridge Addition and that the village will Q not remove any snow with the road in the present condition, pending the completion LA- of a standard road contract with the village. cn o Motion carried. November 14, 1963 (Page 2) APPOINTMENT-VILLAGE CLERK A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to appoint James C. Brown to fill out the unexpired term of Elmer E. Clark. Mr. Brown thereafter took the oath of office as administered by W. H. Perbix. Motion carried. BID-RESOLUTION #72 A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept low bid of First National Bank of Minneapolis by adopting Resolution 172. The apparent low bid of Piper, Jaffrey & Hopwood was in error. Motion carried. RESOLUTION _____ A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to adopt Resolution f construction plan for traffic sign and devices, S.P. 2785-83 (TH 494-393) from o.24 miles west of C.S.A.H. 18 to 0.20 miles north of T.H. 7, comprising sheets 1 to 37 inclusive, and Special Provisions for SP 2785-83 (TH 494-393) Minnesota Project 1-494-4 (63) 225, for traffic signs, dated October 10, 1963. Motion carried. BERNARD F. SMITH A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct Attorney, Perbix to write a letter to Bernard F. Smith to stop the use of auto- mobile wrecking yard on Town Line Road. t Motion carried. SEMRAD RE-ZONING-ORDINANCE #40 WA motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson that the minutes of the October 23, 1963 meeting show the addition that the hearing on this was continued to November 14, 1963. (b)A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that Ordinance #40 which provides for the following property be adopted: N. E. quarter of the S. W. quarter of the S. W. quarter of Section 3, Twp. 116, Range 22, Hennepin County, Minnesota except East 382.7 feet of North 452.8 feet thereof; and except the East 146.7 feet line South of the North 452.8 feet thereof and except West 30 feet thereof: The South 79 rods of the S. E. quarter of the S. W. quarter T116, Range 22, together with Lots 9 and 10 of Auditors Subdivision 275. Motion carried. I i November 14, 1963 (Page 3) HERITAGE PARK CONTRACT A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve road contract and road easements in Heritage Park and are acceptable upon delivery of signed contract to the village and the deed to the turnaround in blocks three and four. The mayor and clerk were instructed to sign same. The original and two carbon copies were given to Mr. Jones, to be mailed to Engineer, Carter. Motion carried. DECEMBER 9RD ELECTION A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to appoint judges, clerics, and counters at the rate of $1.50 per hour for the December 3, 1963 election. Motion carried. CHECKS O BE ISSUED A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to sign and issue checks to village personnel. Motion carried. E�� CABINET A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to authorize purchase of a locked filing cabinet, legal size, not to exceed $125.00 in price. i Motion carried.
