HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 10/23/1963 - Village Meeting October 23, 1963 The Village Council of Eden Prairie met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie ( High School on October 23. 1963 at 8 o'clock p. m. Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor Elmer E. Clark, Clerk • Al Bruce, Trustee Rolf E. Haugen, Treasurer Alvin Bren, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper Kenneth Anderson, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Archie Carter, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES OF LAST MEETING A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the minutes of the October 8th meeting as written with the following correction: WaI DSn Builders - Central ater System The request for a central water system was denied by 3 ayes and 2 abstains. Motion carried. KRAL - B LLHURST ADDITION Mr. Don Kral appeared requesting the straightening of Eden Prairie Road +66, a portion of which has a sharp bend. No action wag taken at this tine. PHILLIPS PROPERTY A notion was :wade by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to instruct Engineer Carter to inspect b uilding on C. W. Phillips property as to building permits and easements. Motion carried. BUILDING INSPECTION A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct the clerk to inform the Building Inspector not to issue any building permits on property that does not abut a public road. Motion carried. WESTGATE ADDITION 1. A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue permits in Westgate Addition on the following lots upon developer furnishing the standard road contract and bond in the amount fixed by Engineer Carter: Lots 1 thru 8 in Block 1 Block 2 Block 3 Lots 1 thru 12 in Block k Motion carried. A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that appli- cation for variance lots 17, 18, 19 in block 1 be referred to the Zoning and Planning Commission. Motion carried. 3. Discussion was held with Nero Mason about possible acquisition of Outlot #1 in Westgate Addition for park or playground purposes. RESCLUTION A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept Resolution #71 providing for issuance and sale of $65,000.00 in bonds. Motion carried. x SHANNON - S7ERLIM FIELD A notion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that Mr. Shannon, Eden Prairie Road #66 and Boyd in Sterling Field, be granted perwission to landsoape his yard to the edge of the street. Nation carried. VILLAGE HALL A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Bluer Clark that the firm of Rieke-Carroll & Associates, Inc. be engaged as engineers for the planning of the nev village hall. There were 5 ayes. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 11:00 p. n. Tamer E. Clark, Clerk
