The village council of Eden Prairie met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie
High School April 24, 1963 at 8 o'clock P. M.
Present were:
Donald Rogers, Mayor Elmer E. Clark, Clerk
Albert Bruce, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney
Alvin Bren, Trustee Edna M. FNolmgren, Bookkeeper
Kenneth Anderson, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer
Many Visitors
The meeting was called to order by Mayor, Rogers who called for the
reading of the minutes of the last meeting which were approved as read.
MEETING MINUTES
A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to discontinue
the reading of the minutes at future meetings.
Motion carried.
PRAIRIE SHORES
A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that a new
petition be submitted to the property owners in Prairie Shores for signatures
eliminating the restriction clause pertaining to cost per lot.
Motion carried.
SHATTUCK REPORT
Mr. I. S. Shattuck presented a resume of his work for the past five months,
with recommendations on two sites for a future shopping center at the corner of
#494 and #169, possible zoning changes along County Road #18, and along Highway
#169. Present arrangements with Mr. Shattuck on an advisory capacity are to be
continued.
WEEDS
Mr. Ira McKowan talked about weed control in Eden Prairie and the cooperation
of all 4H children and interested parties in the continuance of the County Fair.
Harry Picha has been appointed weed inspector for Eden Prairie for this year.
SAM GLEN GRAVEL PIT
Mr. Crawford from the State Highway Department representing the contractor
for paving #494 requested permission to set up a crusher in the Sam Glen Gravel Pit,.
Permission was granted per new Gravel Ordinance.
GRAVEL ORDINANCE
! Revision suggestions by gravel pit owners have been sent to village attorney,
Perb3x some of which will be put into a new ordinance. Copies of this will be
vent to gravel operators and council members for discussion at another meeting.

LOAD LIMIT ON COUNTY ROAD J18
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce that the
clerk write a letter to the Village of Edina granting permission to change the
load limit on a portion of County Road #18 from four to six tons.
Motion carried.
RUSSIC
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson that a
contract be given for the operation of the Russic property, the mayor and clerk
are to sign the bond and authorization.
Motion carried.
NORTHERN STATES POWER
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson that
attorney, Perbix be instructed to draw up an ordinance for all utility routes
in the Village of Eden Praire.
Motion carried.
UCKENSTADT - TRAILER HOUSE AND JUNK COMPLAINT
A complaint was registered by Hoyt Mackenstadt in regard to trucks and junk
on the Lesterberg property adjoining his land an3 also a trailer house next to
his property. Attorney, Perbix will write again about the junk, a letter was
written in March in regard to this.
SEAL COATING ROADS
Discussion was held with engineer, Carter in regard to seal coating several
roads in Eden Prairie, final decision on this matter is to be made at another
meeting.
FINANCIIG - STERLING FIELD AND KINGS COURT, 2ND ADDIT. SEAL COAT
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct
attorney, Perbix to make arrangements with the bank for financing the seal coating
of roads in Sterling Field and Kings Court, 2nd Addition.
Notion carried.

A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to grant
permission to Ray Stodola to purchase a used gas pump for $85.00 for the village
garage, also grass seed for Sterling Field Addition Park.
Motion carried.
