HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 03/12/1963 - Village Meeting March 12, 1963 The regular meeting of the Eden Prairie village council met March 12, 1963 at the Eden Prairie School in room 308 at 8 P. M. Present were: Donald Rogers. Mayor Rolf Haugen, Treasurer Al Bruce, Trustee Elmer E. Clark, Clerk Alvin Bren, Trustees W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Kenneth Anderson, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer Several Visitors ORDER OF BUSINESS: The meeting was called to order by. Mayor, Rogers who called for the reading of the minutes of the last meeting which were read and approved. CLA2& A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Al Bruce that payment of claims numbers 929 through 968 be paid. Motion carried. STATE HTGGMMY RESOLUTION Mr. Welch and Mr. Beebe of the State Highway Department appeared before the council to have two resolutions approved by the council. #1 Resolution covers paving contract on 4494 to be let in 1963. 1F2 Resolution pertains to renumbering State Highway #5 to #169. Both resolutions are on file in the clerks minute book. Motion carried. C3, RA�YE_L PITS A motion was duly made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce that the village attorney and engineer Carter be instructed to prepare new contracts for gravel pit operation in the village as soon as possible. Motion carried. PE11TION_;,P IRIE SHORES A petition for black topping streets in Prairie Shores with 18 signers was withdrawn because of insufficient signers, there being 36 lots in the addition. A motion was duly made and seconded that 65% of property owners should be required on all petitions for black topping of streets before it would be considered by the council Motion carried. March 12, 1963 (Page 2) BBER ORDINANCE A notion was duly made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Al Bruce that subdivision #9 in Ordinance #29 be amended to delete those portions which prohibit set-ups. Motion carried. RS-ZONING - TOBIAS A motion was duly made and seconded that a hearing on re-zoning of Elmer Tobias, Ed Tobias, and Dean Outhoudt properties from commercial to industrial be advertised for a meeting of the council April 9. 1963. Fee of $85.00 is to be paid in advance. Motion carried. WXWS Mr. Davis of Edina appeared in regard to weed inspection and spraying. The matter was left open for further consideration FINANCIAL Mr. James E. Olson representing the financial firm of Juran and Moody r appeared and gave. a very thorough explanation of the handling of financial probl*as which will come up as the village becomes larger. He also left infor- imation for the council members to study. No action was taken on this matter at this time. PADON DOWN WATER A motion was duly made and seconded that engineer, Carter be authorized to make a prelimary study of the ester problem in Padon Downs addition and report to the council Motion carried. Al2RAHAMS i A motion was duly made and seconded that Mr. Abrahams present his plat of three and three quarters Q 3/4) acres for building purposes to the Zoning Board at the next meeting for their recommendation. u..
