HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2002-178 - Summary Ordinance Approval for Ordinance 30-2002 - 11/12/2002 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY,MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2002-178 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 30-2002 AND ORDERING THE PUBLICATION OF SAID SUMMARY WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 30-2002 was adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Eden Prairie held on the 12th day of November,2002. NOW THEREFOR4E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNSEL OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL FINDS, DETERMINES, AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: A. Ordinance No. 30-2002 is lengthy and contains charts. B. The test of summary of Ordinance No. 30-2002, attached hereto as Exhibit A, conforms to M.S. § 331A.01, Subd. 10, and is approved, and publication of the title and summary of the Ordinance will clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. C. The title and summary shall be published once in the Eden Prairie News in a body type no smaller than brevier or eight-point type. D. A printed copy of the Ordinance shall be made available for inspection by any person, during regular office hours, at the office of the City Clerk, and a copy of the entire text of the Ordinance shall be posted in the City offices. E. Ordinance 30-2002 shall be recorded in the Ordinance Book, along with proof of publication,within twenty(20) days after said publication. ADOPTED by the City Council on November 12,2002. ancy/ yra- en yor ATTEST: (Seal)) Katlileen Porta, Clerk CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTS.',MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO.30-2002 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA, AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 2.05, SUBD 3, RELATING TO MAYOR AND COUNCILMEMBER SALARIES; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CITY CODE CHAPTER 1 AND SECTION 11.99 WHICH, AMONG OTHER THINGS, CONTAIN PENALTY PROVISIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE,MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: Section 1. City Code Section 2.05, Subd. 3 is amended by adding subsection D as follows: D. The Mayor and each Council Member may attend and participate in the benefits (including food and refreshments) of the following activities which shall be deemed to constitute compensation for the Mayor and Council Members: an annual recognition dinner for Commission members; employee events including employee picnic, and Thanksgiving and Christmas luncheons; other Employee and Commission recognition events; public open houses; food and refreshments provided in conjunction with periodic business meetings with the City Manager; and food and refreshments provided immediately before or in conjunction with meetings of the Council. The benefits provided in this subsection shall become effective January 1, 2003. Section 2. City Code Chapter 1 entitled "General Provisions and Definitions Applicable to the Entire City Code Including Penalty for Violation" and Section 4.99 entitled "Violation a Misdemeanor" are hereby adopted in their entirety, by reference, as though repeated verbatim herein. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and publication. FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Eden Prairie on the 1" day of October, 2002, and finally read and adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City on the 12`h day of November,2002.
